Williams team principal James Vowles said the team remains committed to keeping Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz beyond this season. He expressed confidence that both drivers want to stay with the British Formula 1 squad.
Vowles highlighted ongoing efforts to fix the overweight and underperforming FW48 car. The team expects weight-saving improvements at upcoming races after points finishes in Miami, Montreal and Monaco.
The principal stressed transparency in discussions with the drivers since October last year. He said both Albon and Sainz share his values of honesty and have publicly confirmed their commitment to Williams.
Vowles noted that the drivers would be foolish not to consider options at other teams. He added that Williams is working to show tangible progress and make the squad feel like their own project.
The comments come as the team aims to build on last season's fifth-place constructors finish amid challenges in 2026.
