Yard Act debuts new album at surprise London gig

Yard Act played their forthcoming album You’re Gonna Need A Little Music in full during an intimate surprise show at Tottenham’s Unit 58 on May 7. The Leeds band announced the one-off gig to fans via their mailing list just hours before doors opened.

The performance marked the live debut of the record, which the group recorded together in the studio for the first time. Frontman James Smith introduced tracks such as Empty Pledges and Redeemer, while the set closed with the album’s final songs Talky Talky People and Over The Barrel before the band added older material including Dead Horse and Dark Days.
