Zendaya appeared at the Paris premiere of The Odyssey in an archive Alexander McQueen dress from 1997.
The actor chose look three from McQueen’s spring 1997 couture collection for Givenchy, titled “The Search for the Golden Fleece.” The white corseted dress featured a high V-neck, padded shoulders, and exaggerated sleeves that hung over the forearms.
She paired the outfit with an intricate gold headpiece designed by Philip Treacy. The piece covered the lower face and rose to a sharp point above the head.
The collection was McQueen’s first for Givenchy and drew inspiration from the Greek myth of Jason and the Argonauts. Original runway model Debra Shaw wore the same look nearly thirty years earlier.
Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach selected the piece to continue a theme of sculpted, goddess-inspired garments during the film’s press tour.
