On December 20, around 9 p.m., a 22-year-old man fell victim to a shooting on Boulevard Jourdan in Marseille's 14th arrondissement, in the Mail neighborhood. Prosecutors report he was struck by at least five Kalashnikov rounds to the chest and abdomen, dying at the scene. The victim was known to police for drug use and driving under the influence, but not for drug trafficking.
The vehicle used by the shooter or shooters was found burned in the 13th arrondissement shortly afterward. The investigation, assigned to the anti-organized crime and specialized delinquency unit, focuses on organized gang assassination.
Around 10:30 p.m., another man arrived at the emergency room with a foot wound from a firearm, stating he was hit in a shooting in the same arrondissement, but offering no further details. These incidents occur amid ongoing violence tied to crime in the city.
