New storms break out Friday from Brittany to central regions. 26 departments are placed on orange alert, with gusts up to 130 km/h, heavy rains and hail.
Heat is receding over much of the country this Friday. From the northwest to the Paris basin, temperatures drop below 30°C in the afternoon.
26 departments are affected by the orange alert: Ain, Allier, Ariège, Aveyron, Cantal, Côte-d’Or, Doubs, Haute-Garonne, Gers, Isère, Jura, Loire, Haute-Loire, Lozère, Haute-Marne, Nièvre, Puy-de-Dôme, Hautes-Pyrénées, Rhône, Haute-Saône, Saône-et-Loire, Savoie, Haute-Savoie, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne and Territoire de Belfort.
These storms are locally strong and bring gusts of 70-80 km/h, heavy rains and hail. Other more violent storms rise from the Pyrenees toward the center-east and northeast, with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h, locally up to 120-130 km/h.
The weekend looks more pleasant over much of the country, with temperatures close to seasonal norms.
