The African Democratic Congress has accused President Bola Tinubu of acting as a professional statement-maker on insecurity while failing to provide updates on abducted citizens.
The African Democratic Congress issued a statement on July 26, 2026, criticizing President Bola Tinubu for his handling of insecurity. The party demanded timelines and regular updates on the rescue of 176 residents from Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State who were abducted on February 3, 2026.
ADC National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi linked the concerns to a peaceful protest by Kaiama residents on July 24, 2026. The party said families feared their relatives had been forgotten after more than 170 days in captivity.
The statement also referenced recent abductions in Zamfara State, attacks in Benue State, the kidnapping of Kebbi State High Court Judge Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza, and insurgent activity in Borno State. It called for equal attention to all victims regardless of location.
The ADC argued that repeated assurances from the presidency had lost their effect without visible results and urged decisive action to secure releases across affected communities.
