AKT leads motorcycle sales in Colombia in April 2026

The Andi and Fenalco Motorcycle Industry Chamber released a report highlighting the sector's strong performance in April 2026. It recorded 113,602 new motorcycle registrations, a 40.69% year-over-year increase, though down 4.06% from March.

Year-to-date in 2026, sales have risen 37.09%. Leading brands were Bajaj with 17.95% market share, followed by Suzuki and AKT. Hero posted the highest interannual growth at 96.23%, with Bera (517.99%) and Vento (371.18%) standing out in the top 15.

The top 10 models accounted for 34% of sales, all featuring ABS or CBS braking systems, advancing road safety. Regionally, Cundinamarca (17.56%), Antioquia (16.55%), and Valle del Cauca (10.76%) held 44.86% of registrations.

The report emphasizes motorcycles' key role in mobility, particularly for low-income households and delivery services in the informal economy.
