Angine de Poitrine achieves global breakthrough independently

Angine de Poitrine has become one of the world's hottest bands in 2026 after a viral KEXP performance. The instrumental microtonal math-rock group opted to remain independent despite interest from major labels. They recently appeared on the cover of Billboard Canada.

The band's rise began in February 2026 when their KEXP performance video went viral and reached 17 million views on YouTube. This led to millions of streams, sold-out concerts, and a record crowd of around 100,000 at the Montreal International Jazz Festival.

Manager Sébastien Collin described the sudden attention, noting that every major label and most big indies contacted the band. The group ultimately chose to stay independent after considering offers.

Collin highlighted the appeal of their complex music to a broad audience at the festival. The Vol. II album had been planned for an April launch following the video's release.
