Arsenal complete permanent signing of Hincapie

Arsenal have activated an option to make the signing of defender Piero Hincapie permanent from Bayer Leverkusen.

The Ecuador international spent the 2025-26 season on loan at the Emirates Stadium. He made 39 appearances across all competitions and started 20 Premier League matches as Arsenal won the title with the league's best defensive record, conceding 27 goals.

Hincapie also started in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain. The 24-year-old can play at centre-back or left-back and made his debut for the club in September.

The move will officially become permanent on 1 July. Before joining Arsenal, Hincapie made 166 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen and was part of the side that won the Bundesliga in 2023-24.
