The remake of the 2013 pirate adventure launches on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. It arrives with a Metacritic score of 84 and strong Steam pre-order numbers.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is scheduled to release today on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. The game rebuilds the original on the latest Anvil Engine and adds new content along with changes to controls and the open world.
On Metacritic the remake holds an 84 score from over 75 reviews. This marks the highest rating for a mainline Assassin's Creed title since the 2013 original Black Flag, which scored 88.
Pre-orders on Steam have exceeded 300,000 units for nearly $14 million in gross revenue. That figure is 5.39 times higher than the same pre-release window for Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Eurogamer gave the game three stars. Its review called it a perfectly fine way to experience the tale while noting that some new additions are not universally positive.
