Augusta National has unveiled a massive three-story Player Services Building that blends seamlessly into the landscape, impressing players during Masters week. The facility, which replaced former player parking, offers dining areas, a fitness center, recovery rooms and more. Players like Cameron Smith praised its world-class amenities.
AUGUSTA, Ga. — On Monday, the first official day of Masters week, players discovered the new Player Services Building behind the practice range at Augusta National. The structure, absent last year, now appears as if it has stood for decades, surrounded by established pine straw, landscaping and trees. Doug Ferguson of the AP first reported its details last week. A security guard near the building remarked, “Shoot, you can’t even get a house built that quick.” Security guard confirmed to observers that it was newly constructed. The building provides players with closer access to the locker room from the range and ample space with high-end amenities. Features include large dining areas, a bar with televisions, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a recovery area equipped with physical therapy tables, cold plunges, saunas and hot tubs. Subtle elements of Masters history appear throughout. Cameron Smith called it “world class, just like what we’ve come to expect of Augusta National.” He added, “It’s pretty spectacular. The locker room is great. The dining room is great. The gym is great. There’s no flaws. Everyone is really happy with it.” Smith highlighted the expansive locker room, complete with a charger for his TrackMan, and the “pretty special” recovery facility downstairs. Access is restricted to those with Gold, Yellow or Yellow Block badges, including players, families, coaches, caddies and trainers. After practice, Min Woo Lee headed there in a golf cart.
