Authorities detain ‘La Tripa’, criminal leader from Morelos linked to Cuauhtémoc Blanco, in Puebla

Homero Figueroa Meza, alias ‘La Tripa’, was captured in Puebla during a federal operation. He is linked to homicide and extortion crimes in Morelos.

Officers from the Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana, the Agencia de Investigación Criminal of the Fiscalía General de la República and the Centro Nacional de Inteligencia detained Homero Figueroa Meza in a joint operation in Puebla. The arrest was carried out under the Estrategia Nacional contra la Extorsión following citizen complaints. At the time of his arrest, authorities seized a short firearm, drug doses, a vehicle and a false identification. A woman identified as Sandra “N” was also detained. Figueroa Meza appears in a 2022 photograph with then governor of Morelos Cuauhtémoc Blanco inside the church of the Asunción de María in Yautepec. The image also shows Irving Eduardo Solano Vera, alias ‘El Profe’, and Raymundo Isidro Castro Santiago, alias ‘El Ray’.
