Bayern Munich beats PSG 2-1 in Champions League

Paris Saint-Germain suffered its first Champions League defeat this season, losing 2-1 to Bayern Munich in the 4th matchday at Parc des Princes. The Bavarians, securing their 16th consecutive win across all competitions, capitalized on Parisian errors in the first half. PSG lost Ousmane Dembélé and Achraf Hakimi to injuries, compounding a nightmarish evening.

The clash between PSG and Bayern Munich, dubbed by Vitinha as a matchup between 'the two best teams in Europe,' ended in a 2-1 victory for the Bavarians on November 4, 2025, at Parc des Princes during the 4th matchday of the Champions League. Trailing early after Luis Díaz's goal in the 5th minute on a counter sparked by Willian Pacho's pass and Nuno Mendes' error, the Parisians struggled to create chances despite dominant possession in the first half.

A false celebration lit up the Parc at the 22nd minute when Fabián Ruiz and Ousmane Dembélé thought they had scored, only for it to be disallowed for offside. But tragedy struck: Dembélé, recently hampered by a hamstring issue, left injured at the 25th minute. Then, at the 31st, Lucas Chevalier was saved by his post on a shot from Serge Gnabry, before Marquinhos was beaten by Díaz for the 0-2 at the 32nd.

Just before halftime (45+7), Díaz's dangerous tackle on Achraf Hakimi led to the Colombian's expulsion after VAR review – initially a yellow. Hakimi, with a twisted ankle, exited in tears, replaced by Senny Mayulu at 45+2. In the second half, at eleven against ten, PSG responded: João Neves pulled one back with a volley from Lee Kang-in's cross (74th), but despite chances from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Vitinha, and Warren Zaïre-Emery, Manuel Neuer preserved Bayern's win.

Luis Enrique, frustrated, analyzed: 'If you give gifts at this level, it's goal and it's over.' He acknowledged Bayern's superiority in the first half and noted Paris deserved a draw in the second, while awaiting updates on the injuries, with Dembélé's unrelated to his prior issue. This defeat, PSG's first in the CL, complicates their European campaign.
