BMKG forecasts light rain and thunderstorms in several Indonesian regions on Sunday

On Sumatera island, conditions are generally cloudy to light rain. "Thick clouds are expected in Banda Aceh, while light rain is potential in Medan, Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang, and Padang," she said. Light rain is also forecast for Bengkulu, with thunderstorms possible in Jambi, Palembang, Pangkalpinang, and Bandar Lampung.

For Java island, Bandung faces thick clouds, and light rain in Serang, Jakarta, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya. Bali and Nusa Tenggara regions see light rain in Kupang and Denpasar, and rain with thunder in Mataram. "Meanwhile, in Bali and Nusa Tenggara, light rain is potential in Kupang and Denpasar. Mataram is predicted to have rain with thunder," she stated.

Kalimantan island expects light rain in Pontianak, Tanjung Selor, Samarinda, and Palangka Raya, with thunderstorms in Banjarmasin. On Sulawesi, hazy conditions are forecast for Kendari, light rain in Manado, Gorontalo, Palu, and Makassar, and rain with thunder in Mamuju.

In eastern Indonesia, Sorong may experience haze, light rain in Ternate, Ambon, Manokwari, Nabire, Jayawijaya, and Merauke, and moderate rain in Jayapura. Febby stressed that this is a general forecast, and the public can access hourly updates on bmkg.go.id or the Info BMKG app.
