Boca Juniors advances to Clausura semifinals with win over Argentinos Juniors

Boca Juniors beat Argentinos Juniors 1-0 at La Bombonera to reach the Torneo Clausura semifinals. Chilean player Carlos Palacios started and added dynamism on the left flank. Claudio Úbeda's team held off the visitors' pressure after an early goal.

The match at La Bombonera quickly tilted in favor of Boca Juniors. At the 5th minute, following a corner kick, Ayrton Costa grabbed a rebound in the six-yard box and scored with his left foot to take the lead. The hosts controlled the early play, with a clear chance for Miguel Merentiel and a shot from Carlos Palacios that hit the crossbar.

Argentinos Juniors countered with attacks down the flanks and long-range efforts. Players such as Tomás Molina, Nicolás Oroz, and Alan Lescano created threats, forcing goalkeeper Agustín Marchesín to make several key saves.

The second half became more physical. Boca made substitutions to sustain their rhythm: Edinson Cavani, Tomás Belmonte, and Kevin Zenón came on, with Zenón replacing Palacios at the 73rd minute. The Chilean had provided movement on the left side before exiting.

Argentinos ramped up their pressure toward the end, with crosses and blocked shots, particularly in added time. Boca's defense and Marchesín held firm, securing a narrow victory that advances them in the Argentine League.
