Boxer Alycia Baumgardner in talks with WWE

Undefeated boxer Alycia Baumgardner revealed she is in discussions with WWE about a potential move to professional wrestling. The super featherweight champion, who holds multiple world titles, shared her childhood fandom of WWE during an interview. She emphasized building her brand beyond boxing.

Alycia Baumgardner, the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO and The Ring female super featherweight champion, told Ariel Helwani she could see herself as a WWE superstar. 'I could definitely be a WWE (superstar). I’m a Diva, for real,' she said, recounting a childhood story where she and her sister pretended to be Divas, lighting sparklers for a mock entrance that alarmed their mother. Baumgardner noted both sides have initiated contact, though she has not yet trained in a pro wrestling ring. Asked about joining WWE, Baumgardner replied, 'It’s in the works. Conversations are being had. I don’t turn no deal down if it makes sense.' She positioned herself as more than just a boxer, stating, 'I’m not just a boxer. This is why they are mad. They have to box. I don’t have to box. I love to box and choose to box. We’re building something big. We’re building a brand that is made to last.' The boxer has previously expressed openness to challenges, saying in February she would face anyone in a hypothetical matchup. Her charisma and in-ring success have drawn attention from wrestling promoters seeking crossover stars.
