Quarterback Brendan Sorsby has decided against pursuing any chance to play in 2026. He will instead prepare for the 2027 NFL Draft following a settlement with the league.
Sorsby announced the decision in a statement released on June 30. He accepted full responsibility for his gambling issues and said he is focused on recovery.
"I accept 100% responsibility for my actions," Sorsby said. "I did not have control of my gambling problem, and it took getting caught for me to realize that, but it was truly the best thing that could've happened to me."
The NFL and NFL Players Association reached a settlement with Sorsby. It resolves claims over the Supplemental Draft denial and confirms he faces no additional discipline.
Under the agreement, Sorsby can participate in pre-draft events such as the Senior Bowl, Pro Day and team visits ahead of the 2027 Draft.
