Y: Marshals is scheduled to debut on CBS on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. ET, slotting into the network's midseason Sunday primetime lineup. The schedule includes 60 Minutes from 7:00-8:00 p.m., followed by Y: Marshals, Tracker from 9:00-10:00 p.m., and Watson from 10:00-11:00 p.m.

Plot and Production

Set after the events of Yellowstone, the series sees Kayce Dutton leaving the ranch to serve in an elite U.S. Marshals unit. Drawing on his cowboy and Navy SEAL background, he and his team tackle violence in Montana while navigating personal and psychological challenges. Taylor Sheridan, creator of the Yellowstone universe, is an executive producer, but Spencer Hudnut serves as showrunner and wrote the first episode, which is directed by Greg Yaitanes. The production involves MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Cast Highlights

Luke Grimes reprises his role as Kayce Dutton, joined by Brecken Merrill as his son Tate Dutton, Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater, and Mo Brings Plenty as Mo. New cast members include Arielle Kebbel as Marshal Belle, Ash Santos as Marshal Andrea, Tatanka Means as Marshal Miles, Logan Marshall-Green as Pete Calvin (Kayce's military friend), and Brett Cullen in a recurring role as Harry Gifford, head of Montana's U.S. Marshals.

Kelsey Asbille's return as Monica Dutton remains unconfirmed, though teasers suggest Kayce still wears his wedding ring, hinting at their ongoing marriage from Yellowstone's finale.

Teasers and Updates

No full trailer has been released, but short teasers have appeared. In a recent clip shared on CBS's Instagram, Kayce remarks, “I’m just grappling with some skeletons I’d like to keep in my closet,” showing him and his fellow marshals in Montana woods. An earlier October 20 teaser features Kayce saying, “I’m changing paths. I’m trying to find a new beginning.”

Luke Grimes expressed surprise at the spinoff's development but praised the compelling pitch, noting it extends the Yellowstone story meaningfully. “The idea that was pitched to me is very, very good and very interesting, and it really roped me in,” he told People.
