The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed Class 12 board exams scheduled for March 9-11, 2026, at affiliated schools in the Middle East, following a similar decision by the Kerala board earlier this week. The move comes amid the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict, with revised dates to be announced after security review.
Building on the Kerala General Education Department's postponement of Class 10 and 12 exams at Gulf centres announced on March 2, the CBSE has now deferred its Class 12 exams for Middle East schools from March 9-11, 2026.
CBSE stated that new dates will be set after assessing the regional security situation, prioritizing student safety. The postponement is region-specific and does not affect exams elsewhere.
These decisions underscore the ripple effects of Middle East geopolitical tensions on Indian education systems serving expatriate communities.
