Hassan Abdalla, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, met with Fathi Zouheir Nouri, Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia, to discuss joint cooperation between the two institutions.
The meeting took place on 15 June 2026. Abdalla highlighted the deep-rooted historical ties and fraternal relations between Egypt and Tunisia. He noted their continuous development across various levels in ways that support stronger economic cooperation between the two nations.
Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration within the framework of a memorandum of understanding signed in September 2024. The agreement covers the exchange of expertise in areas including financial stability, monetary policy, regulatory developments, and digital transformation.
Both sides reviewed key regional and international economic developments. They also addressed efforts to tackle global and regional geopolitical challenges. At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties underscored the importance of maintaining coordination to strengthen bilateral relations.
