Ashok Nagar police arrested Ramesh after a tip-off led to the detention of a man smoking ganja in public. The man told officers he had bought the substance from a boy at a nearby park.
A special team then apprehended the boy during surveillance. Questioning revealed that his father, Ramesh, ran the distribution network and had allegedly used the child to avoid detection.
Ramesh was remanded in judicial custody. Records show he faces 15 prior criminal cases, including violations of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The boy was placed in the Government Observation Home in Kellys. Police continue to investigate others connected to the operation.
