Chloe Sevigny is spilling on her complicated dance with stardom. The actress opened up about building walls early in her career. Her new series pairs her with Jennifer Garner and Timothy Olyphant.
Chloe Sevigny, now 51, told People she never craved the spotlight. “I wanted to be an artist and an actor, but I didn’t want to be famous,” she said. So she slipped on a protective shell and kept the world at arm’s length.
Her breakout turns in Boys Don’t Cry and American Psycho made her a household name anyway. Next up she plays Tatum in the eight-episode drama The Five Star Weekend alongside Jennifer Garner and Timothy Olyphant. The character’s tough exterior felt familiar to Chloe.
Garner admitted she was nervous meeting her co-star at the table read. “Chloë is the face of urban cool,” Garner noted. “She’s Doc Martens. I’m Brooks running shoes.”
By the finale Tatum softens and sees what narrow-mindedness cost her. Chloe called the arc “a great journey.” So… is the shell finally cracking or just getting a fresh coat of paint?
