Colombia's Superfinanciera says 26 entities waive savings account fees

Colombia's Superintendency of Finance announced that at least 26 financial entities do not charge maintenance fees for savings accounts. Additionally, 10 establishments waive fees for transfers in the low-amount deposits category. The agency recommends using its tariff comparator to find the best options.

Colombia's Superintendency of Finance (Superfinanciera) reported that 26 financial sector entities do not apply maintenance fees to savings accounts, allowing users to save without additional upkeep costs. This initiative benefits consumers seeking accessible banking options.

Additionally, the supervisory body highlighted that 10 establishments also do not charge for transfers made under the low-amount deposits category, easing simple transactions without surcharges. The Superfinanciera reminded users to review bank statements to understand costs associated with financial products and to use the tariff comparator on its platform to identify optimal offers.

Among the entities that do not charge for savings accounts are Bbva with its Mi Proyecto product, Scotiabank Colpatria with Cuenta bolsillo, Bancamía with Soñando Juntos, Mibanco with Milagroso, Bancoomeva with Cuenta beneficio, Bancolombia with Plan Cero, Confiar with Confinomina, JFK with Cuenta de ahorros, Banco de Bogotá with Afc, Banco Caja Social with Cuentamiga, and Banco Pichincha with Cuenta Pibank. Others include GNB Sudameris, Davivienda with traditional or Afc accounts, Banco W, and Serfinanza.

"If you make bank transfers, there may be entities that do not charge you for that service. Use the SFC Tariff Comparator and choose the best for your pocket," recommended the Superfinanciera. It is advisable to check specific conditions on each entity's website before contracting products.
