DHSUD approves P870.6 million in land acquisition loans

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development has approved P870.6 million in loans under its Enhanced Community Mortgage Program in the program's first year.

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development approved P870.6 million in land acquisition loans under the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program. The loans benefit over 8,100 low-income and informal settler families across the country. The program is implemented through the Social Housing Finance Corp. and forms part of the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program.

Forty-seven projects have been approved since the program began in 2025. Twenty-five homeowners associations have received assistance, allowing more than 4,000 beneficiaries to complete property purchases. Recent approvals cover four associations in Palawan, Camarines Norte and Isabela.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said the initiative follows President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to make home ownership affordable. He added that the department plans to expand the program with the Social Housing Finance Corp. to assist more families.
