Dhurandhar 2 teaser receives CBFC A rating and will attach to Border 2

The Central Board of Film Certification has approved the teaser for Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge with an A rating and a runtime of 1 minute and 48 seconds. Makers plan to attach it to theatrical prints of Border 2 starting from its release day. This promotion builds on the first film's blockbuster success.

The sequel to the hit spy thriller Dhurandhar, titled Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, has advanced in its promotional phase with the certification of its teaser. On January 19, 2026, the CBFC granted the teaser an A (Adults Only) certificate, reflecting its intense content. The runtime stands at exactly 1 minute and 48 seconds, designed to offer a gripping preview of the upcoming action.

To boost visibility, producers Jio Studios and B62 Studios will include the teaser with prints of Border 2 from its opening day. This strategy targets shared audiences interested in large-scale action films. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the sequel continues the story from the first installment, which released on December 5, 2025, and has achieved All Time Blockbuster status.

Ranveer Singh reprises his lead role as undercover agent Jaskirat Singh Rangi, joined by returning cast members including Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam, R. Madhavan as Ajay Sanyal, and Sara Arjun as Yalina. Akshaye Khanna appears as Rehman Dakait in flashback sequences, with no new footage shot for his character after his arc concluded in the original. Arjun Rampal's Major Iqbal gains a more prominent role, while the enigmatic Bade Sahab remains a key plot element, with casting details undisclosed.

The first Dhurandhar has grossed ₹1283.5 crore worldwide, including ₹825.1 crore net in India and ₹293.6 crore overseas. Netflix secured digital rights for both films in a ₹130 crore deal, with the original streaming from January 30, 2026. Dhurandhar 2 is set for theatrical release on March 19, 2026, amid high expectations to surpass its predecessor's records.
