Dick Parry, the saxophonist known for his work on Pink Floyd tracks including Money and Shine On You Crazy Diamond, has died at age 83. Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour announced the death on social media.
Gilmour shared the news on Friday, stating that Parry died that morning. He noted their long history together, saying he had played in bands with Parry on saxophone since age seventeen, including with Pink Floyd. Gilmour highlighted Parry's distinctive style on several songs, calling it a signature of enormous beauty known to millions.
