Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris closed permanently on March 28, 2026, after 24 years, set to reopen the next day as Disney Adventure World. The transformation includes new lands like World of Frozen amid high expected crowds. French President Emmanuel Macron visited the site with Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro ahead of the opening.
Walt Disney Studios Park, the second gate at Disneyland Paris, shut its doors for the final time at 9 p.m. CET on March 28, 2026. Opened in 2002 with a filmmaking theme, the park faced early criticism for its sparse attractions and unfinished feel, including rides like Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster and shows such as Armageddon: Les Effets Spéciaux. Over the years, Disney invested heavily, adding Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy in 2014 and Avengers Campus in 2022, which rethemed the coaster to Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and introduced Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure. On March 28, French President Emmanuel Macron toured the park alongside Disney Chairman Josh D’Amaro, Disneyland Paris President Natacha Rafalski, and regional leader Valérie Pécresse. Apostolos Tzitzikostas posted on X that Disneyland Paris generates 6% of France’s tourism revenue and that the €2 billion investment will create thousands of jobs while committing to sustainable tourism. D’Amaro noted over $2 billion invested since 2018. Disney Adventure World debuted on March 29 with World of Frozen featuring Frozen Ever After, a walking Olaf animatronic, and The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge. Other additions include Raiponce Tangled Spin and Adventure Bay, alongside Worlds of Pixar and World Premiere Plaza with shows like TOGETHER: a Pixar Musical Adventure. Disney warned of high attendance, stating on its website: “Due to the inauguration of Disney Adventure World and the opening of World of Frozen, we expect very high attendance. Access to the land and the attraction Frozen Ever After cannot be guaranteed, and there will be a dedicated wait line at the land entrance.” The company advised multi-day visitors to head to Disneyland Park on March 29 and the new park on March 30 or 31 to avoid peaks. Pixie Dust DLP tweeted: “That’s a wrap! Walt Disney Studios Park has officially closed its doors and will reopen tomorrow as Disney Adventure World. Thank you for the memories, 2002–2026.” Construction continues on a future Lion King-themed land.
