On Thursday, January 22, he shared a black-and-white cinematic teaser on social media, announcing the LP's release date as January 30. The video, which went viral quickly, opens with the line, "From the twisted minds that brought you Hardstone Psycho, comes a new frequency." It features Toliver driving a muscle car on a winding road, meeting a mad scientist in a lab, and assisting in constructing a creepy monster, all while previewing an unreleased track. An injured woman from a car wreck appears early in the clip, adding to the dramatic tone.
To hype the project, Toliver launched an Instagram account called 'octanemountain,' where he posted snippets of songs, including one titled "Long Way To Calabasas" and a performance with a band called "War Hero." The 18-track album is a collaboration between Travis Scott's Cactus Jack label and Atlantic Records, and it's available for pre-save on platforms like Spotify. Its lead single, "Tiramisu," dropped in September 2025, with a new single "ATM" released shortly after the announcement, complete with a music video.
Toliver reportedly hosted a private listening party in Houston recently, and as a new father, the timing feels perfect for his return—it's been nearly two years since his last album. He will headline Rolling Loud Orlando in May, performing tracks from 'Octane' alongside Playboi Carti and YoungBoy Never Broke Again. Previously, he headlined the festival's debut in India.
