Eagles OC Patullo addresses home vandalism after Bears loss

Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo's New Jersey home was vandalized with eggs hours after the team's Week 13 loss to the Chicago Bears. Patullo stated that while criticism is part of the job, involving his family crosses the line. The incident occurred amid offensive struggles, with the Eagles scoring just 15 points in the defeat.

Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo spoke publicly for the first time since his Moorestown, New Jersey home was pelted with eggs following the team's 15-point loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 13. Police reported the vandalism happened hours after the game, with social media video showing individuals throwing objects at the residence and audio capturing shouts to 'get the f--- out of Philly.' The Moorestown Police Department confirmed the investigation is ongoing.

Patullo, a first-year coordinator, addressed reporters on Wednesday, emphasizing the unique atmosphere in Philadelphia. 'I've been here for five years now, and it's been awesome. This is such a unique place to coach and play. It's very special. We've been to two NFC Championship games. We've won at Lincoln Financial, a Super Bowl, the parade. It's an amazing atmosphere to be a coach and a player,' he said. He acknowledged that handling criticism is part of the role but drew a firm boundary when it affects family: 'But when it involves your family, it obviously crosses the line. That happened, and at this point, we've just gotta move on.'

The vandalism followed a frustrating offensive performance, where Philadelphia scored 15 points, committed two turnovers, and running back Saquon Barkley carried the ball 13 times for 56 yards. Through 12 games, the Eagles rank 19th in NFL scoring, 23rd in passing, 22nd in rushing, and 28th in third-down efficiency, though they lead the league with a 75.9% red-zone touchdown rate.

Head coach Nick Sirianni expressed confidence in Patullo, who joined the staff in 2021 and was promoted after Kellen Moore's departure to the Saints. 'I have confidence in the entire group,' Sirianni said. 'I know it will keep coming back to Kevin. If I thought it was one thing, I'd make those changes. Obviously, it's a lot of different things. I don't think it's Kevin.'

Despite the struggles, the 8-4 Eagles hold first place in the NFC East and face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14.
