Edita doubles net profit in Q1 2026 as revenues climb 35%

Edita Food Industries posted robust growth in the first quarter of 2026. Revenues increased by nearly 35 percent while net profit more than doubled compared with the same period last year.

The Egyptian food company reported consolidated revenues of 5.8 billion Egyptian pounds for the three months ended March, a 34.7 percent rise from a year earlier. Net profit reached 793.1 million pounds, up 108.1 percent, while gross profit climbed 48.7 percent to 2 billion pounds.

Volume growth supported the results, with total tons sold rising 36.7 percent to 42,000 tons and packs sold increasing 18.3 percent to one billion. The cakes segment remained the largest contributor at 3.1 billion pounds in revenue, while croissants recorded the fastest growth with a 67.7 percent jump to 1.6 billion pounds.

Export sales reached 549.7 million pounds, or 9.5 percent of total revenue. Edita Morocco contributed 154.6 million pounds, up 21.3 percent from the prior year.

Group Chairman Eng. Hani Berzi said the performance reflected strong demand, effective pricing, and operational discipline. He noted the company remains optimistic about the rest of the year.
