Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reviewed preparations for the second phase of the Decent Life initiative during a meeting on Sunday. The review focused on accelerating rural development projects and applying lessons from the first phase.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with representatives from engineering consultancy Dar Al-Handasah to discuss the launch of the second phase. He stressed the need for full readiness before construction starts and for greater use of locally manufactured components.
The meeting reviewed progress on the first phase. According to Ahmed Abdelazim of Dar Al-Handasah 826 villages have been completed so far. Between June 9 and July 5 the government finished work in 31 more villages finalized 90 projects and handed over 120 projects.
The Decent Life initiative launched in 2019 targets improvements in infrastructure healthcare education and other services across rural Egypt. The second phase is expected to build on these achievements while improving implementation efficiency.
