According to TN, the explosion occurred on Friday night, with multiple firefighter and ambulance units working at the site to control the fire and assist the injured. It remains unknown if people were inside the factory at the time of the blast, but at least 15 were injured, including security personnel and firefighters.
Local residents described the impact: “Roofs and windows flew several kilometers,” one told TN. The shockwave was felt more than 15 kilometers away, damaging other plants and homes in the vicinity.
Ezeiza's mayor, Gastón Granados, stated on TN: “We are working to ensure the safety of people who may be in the vicinity of the site.” Due to the possible toxic cloud from the agrochemicals, authorities warned the population and activated red code in several clinics and hospitals in the area.
