Flyers trade Ersson and Andrae to Maple Leafs

The Philadelphia Flyers have traded goaltender Samuel Ersson and defenseman Emil Andrae to the Toronto Maple Leafs. In return, Toronto sent goaltender Joseph Woll and defenseman Simon Benoit to Philadelphia along with a third-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.

The deal was completed on June 16. Ersson, a veteran of the Swedish national team and formerly with Brynäs, joins Toronto as a pending free agent. Andrae, previously with HV71, also moves to the Maple Leafs organization.

Toronto announced the acquisition of the Swedish pair in exchange for Woll and Benoit. The Maple Leafs also receive Philadelphia's third-round selection in this year's draft.

The transaction clears space for the Flyers ahead of the June 22 deadline for restricted free agents.
