Footage has surfaced of Glen Hansard performing what appears to be an unreleased song at a Dublin pub hours before his death.
The performance took place at the Wren’s Nest in the Strawberry Beds area of Dublin. Hansard sang and played acoustic guitar at the venue on Wednesday night.
He died in a motorcycle crash later that evening. The song includes lyrics such as “everything that could have been done has been tried and failed” and “time is the only thing that’s gonna fix this now.”
Tributes have followed from fellow musicians. Bono described Hansard as the “voice of the streets” and highlighted his charity work. Bruce Springsteen, Nels Cline and Ed Sheeran have also paid tribute.
