Filmmaker Francis Galluppi has assembled an ensemble cast for his upcoming Evil Dead movie. The project follows the success of recent franchise entries and features actors including Charlotte Hope and Zach Gilford. Details on the plot remain under wraps.
Francis Galluppi, known for directing The Last Stop in Yuma County, is helming a new installment in the Evil Dead horror franchise. This untitled film comes on the heels of Evil Dead Burn, set for release on July 24, and the 2023 hit Evil Dead Rise, directed by Lee Cronin, which grossed $147 million worldwide.
The cast includes Charlotte Hope, recognized from The Nun and Game of Thrones; Jessica McNamee, who portrayed Sonya Blade in the Mortal Kombat films; Zach Gilford, seen in Midnight Mass and The Purge: Anarchy; Josh Helman, from Mad Max: Fury Road and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga; Ella Newton, recently in Dangerous Animals; Australian newcomer Ella Oliphant; and Elizabeth Cullen, known for Goolagong and Elvis.
Galluppi wrote and will direct the screenplay, with production handled by longtime franchise producer Rob Tapert and creator Sam Raimi. Executive producers include Romel Adam, Jose Cañas, Lee Cronin, and Bruce Campbell, the iconic Ash from earlier Evil Dead projects. New Line Cinema and Sony Pictures are co-financing the movie.
Distribution plans feature New Line Cinema handling domestic release through Warner Bros. Pictures, Sony for international markets, StudioCanal in the UK, and Metropolitan Filmexport in France. The logline is being kept secret, similar to previous entries in the series. This project was first reported by Deadline in April 2024 for Evil Dead Burn, the sixth installment directed by Sébastien Vaniček.
