Argentine sports journalist Gastón Edul was defeated by his Spanish colleague Edu Aguirre in an amateur boxing match during the Velada del Año 6 event organized by Ibai Llanos.
Edul started the bout with a frantic pace in the first round. However, Aguirre dominated the second round and secured the victory.
The Argentine journalist entered the ring to the national anthem and wearing a Malvinas Islands shirt. After the loss, Edul shared a message addressed to Lionel Messi along with a photo from the match.
Host Nati Jota posted an emotional message of support on her social media. Ahead of the event, images were shared showing Edul's physical transformation following his training.
