The UEFA Executive Committee has selected Germany to host the UEFA Women's EURO 2029 tournament. The 16-team event will take place across eight venues in the summer of 2029. UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin praised the bidding process and congratulated the German Football Association.
On December 3, 2025, the UEFA Executive Committee met at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland, and appointed the German Football Association (DFB) as the host for UEFA Women's EURO 2029. The decision followed a competitive bidding process involving three delegations: the DFB, the Polish Football Association, and a joint bid from the Danish and Swedish associations. An absolute majority was required in the first round of voting to secure the hosting rights.
The tournament will feature 16 teams competing in eight venues across Germany during the summer of 2029. The selected stadiums include Cologne Stadium in Cologne, BVB Stadion Dortmund in Dortmund, Düsseldorf Arena in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt Arena in Frankfurt, Niedersachsenstadion in Hanover, Leipzig Stadium in Leipzig, Munich Football Arena in Munich, and Wolfsburg Arena in Wolfsburg.
UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin announced the decision at a special ceremony, stating: "I want to sincerely thank all three bid delegations for their tireless work and commitment throughout the process. Each bid showcased vision and exceptional teamwork between national associations, governments and local experts, all inspired by the benchmark set by Switzerland last summer. Congratulations to Germany – we look forward to an unforgettable tournament in the summer of 2029!"
This appointment highlights Germany's strong infrastructure for women's football, building on its history of hosting major UEFA events. The committee also named hosts for several youth tournaments, including Belgium for the UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship in 2028 and Türkiye for 2029, but the focus remains on the flagship women's EURO.
