DKI Jakarta's Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) recorded flooding in 55 neighborhoods (RT) across South and West Jakarta due to heavy rain on Monday, May 4, 2026. Three roads were inundated with water levels of 30-120 cm amid rising levels at key monitoring posts reaching Alert 3 status. BPBD deployed personnel for monitoring, pumping, and coordination with other agencies.
Heavy rain struck DKI Jakarta and surrounding areas on Monday, May 4, 2026, causing water levels to rise at several BPBD monitoring posts: Pos Pesanggrahan reached Alert Level 3 (Siaga 3) at 4:00 PM WIB, followed by Pos Depok and Pos Angke Hulu at 5:00 PM WIB.
"Banjir disebabkan curah hujan tinggi," said Mohamad Yohan, Head of the Data and Information Center for Disasters at BPBD DKI Jakarta. The flooding, exacerbated by high rainfall and overflow from Kali Krukut, affected 51 RT in South Jakarta—primarily Petogogan Ward (37 RT), Pela Mampang (9 RT), Cilandak Timur (2 RT), and one RT each in Cilandak Barat, Lebak Bulus, and Bangka—and 4 RT in West Jakarta (two each in Sukabumi Selatan and Sukabumi Utara). Water depths ranged from 30 to 120 cm.
Inundated roads included Jl. Swadarma in Ulujami Ward, Jl. Ciledug Raya in Cipulir Ward (South Jakarta, 30-70 cm), and Jl. Kartika in Meruya Utara Ward (West Jakarta).
BPBD DKI Jakarta deployed personnel to monitor the flooding, coordinated with Dinas SDA (Water Resources), Dinas Bina Marga (Public Works), and Dinas Gulkarmat (Fire and Rescue) for pumping operations, and involved local lurah and camat officials to provide basic needs for affected residents. "BPBD DKI mengimbau kepada masyarakat agar tetap berhati-hati dan waspada terhadap potensi genangan. Dalam keadaan darurat, segera hubungi nomor telepon 112," Mohamad Yohan added. Efforts are underway to drain the water quickly.
