Hikaru Shida and Persephone have secured spots in the upcoming Survival of the Fittest match for the vacant AEW TBS Championship.
The AEW TBS Championship became vacant after Willow Nightingale relinquished the title due to a serious shoulder injury. A six-woman elimination match will determine the new champion on the July 1 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Shida earned her qualification on the June 13 episode of AEW Collision by defeating Zayda Steel. She won with a modified Falcon Arrow followed by a submission hold.
Persephone also advanced on the same episode after defeating Julia Hart. She countered Hart's black mist by slapping it away and secured the win with a Crucifix Bomb.
Four additional qualifying matches remain before the July 1 bout, with competitors including Mina Shirakawa, Kris Statlander, Alex Windsor, Jamie Hayter, Queen Aminata and Harley Cameron.
