Huila's government held its final coordination meeting for the May 31 presidential elections. Authorities reviewed security and logistics across all 33 municipalities.
Huila's secretary of government, security and community affairs, Liliana Vásquez Sandoval, said joint work with the National Civil Registry is advancing normally. She noted electoral materials are available at each voting station.
Huila Police Department commander Colonel Javier Alberto Duarte announced more than 1,200 officers deployed across the 33 municipalities. He explained risk levels were identified to focus police presence.
Ninth Brigade of the National Army commander Brigadier General César Augusto Suárez Giraldo confirmed troops are already positioned at the 125 assigned voting stations. Authorities will maintain monitoring before, during and after the day.
