Iam8bit announces sonic legacy cartridge collection

Iam8bit has revealed a 35th anniversary collection featuring replica Sega Genesis cartridges for the original Sonic the Hedgehog games.

The Sonic the Hedgehog (35th Anniversary) – Legacy Cartridge Collection includes replica cases, premium booklets, and NTSC Genesis-compatible cartridges for both Sonic 1 and Sonic 2. The sets are priced at a combined $200.

First wave orders are expected to arrive before the end of Q3 2026. The announcement marks the blue hedgehog's 35th anniversary since the 1991 release.

Original used copies of the games sell for far less, with loose versions around $15. The higher price reflects small production runs typical of retro replica items.
