India eliminated from women's T20 World Cup after Australia loss

India's women's team was knocked out of the T20 World Cup after a six-wicket defeat to Australia at Lord's on Sunday.

India chose to bat first and posted 170 for four in 20 overs. Harmanpreet Kaur scored 56 off 27 balls, Smriti Mandhana made 38 off 37 balls and Shafali Verma added 34 off 26 balls.

Australia chased the target with Ellyse Perry scoring 56 off 38 balls and Ashleigh Gardner remaining unbeaten on 53 off 29 balls. They won with six wickets and six balls to spare. Sophie Molineux took two wickets.

It was India's second straight group-stage loss to Australia in a World Cup after the 2024 edition. South Africa also advanced to the semifinals.
