Indian athletes secured three gold medals on the third day of the Asian U20 Championships, keeping the country in second place overall.
Nikhil Chandrashekar won the men's 3000m steeplechase in a personal best time of 9:25.44 seconds. Basant took gold in the men's high jump after clearing 2.20m. Shahnavaz Khan claimed victory in the men's long jump with a best effort of 7.84m.
India now has seven gold medals in total after winning four on the previous day. Aarti added a bronze medal in the women's 200m with a personal best of 24.12 seconds.
China leads the standings with 10 gold medals. The championships are set to conclude after the fourth day.
