Indian Army rejects reports of Chinese encroachment in Arunachal

The Indian Army has dismissed media reports claiming Chinese military camps inside Arunachal Pradesh. The state's home minister announced a probe into the allegations.

The Indian Army said reports claiming the People's Liberation Army built camps after encroaching in Arunachal Pradesh are incorrect and baseless.

The Nah Welfare Society submitted a memorandum to the district administration alleging Chinese activities at five locations in Taksing circle. The organisation mentioned increased presence over the past 10 to 15 years.

Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Mama Natung said the state government is awaiting a district report. He indicated a committee would be formed and stated that encroachment, if confirmed, would be wrong.
