The Inter-American Development Bank approved a US$ 550 million guarantee for Argentina aimed at security and justice reforms. The measure seeks to facilitate debt payments and access to private financing.
The Inter-American Development Bank approved a US$ 550 million guarantee for Argentina on June 17, 2026. This is the first guarantee the institution has granted to the country and aims to strengthen security and justice through the PROSEJUS program.
The guarantee will allow mobilization of US$ 1.200 million with private financing and will contribute to a debt payment of US$ 4.300 million in July. Economy Minister Luis Caputo stated that it shows confidence in President Javier Milei’s economic program.
Hours earlier the World Bank had approved a US$ 2.000 million package. President Milei received officials from that institution at Quinta de Olivos the same day. Together both tools cover 95 percent of the payments on a commercial loan.
