Jayden Brown and Quincy B complete Grand Prix hat-trick at EBM Dressage by the Sea

On the final day of the EBM Dressage by the Sea, Jayden Brown and Quincy B secured a third consecutive victory in the Shepherds Electrical CDI3* Grand Prix Special with a personal best score of 74.447%. The event showcased strong performances across various classes, including freestyles and young horse rounds. Emerging riders and consistent partnerships highlighted the competition's depth.

The final day of the EBM Dressage by the Sea featured several standout performances in dressage classes. In the Shepherds Electrical CDI3* Grand Prix Special, Jayden Brown riding Quincy B claimed victory with 74.447%, marking their third win of the weekend despite an error in the one-time changes. High scores of 9.0 for entry, right canter pirouette, and harmony underscored their partnership. Emma Flavelle-Watts and Scarlatti Mio VSR took second place on a personal best of 70.255%, fulfilling Aachen selection criteria after overcoming early penalties. They competed in a double bridle, maintaining secure connection. Mary Hanna and Ivanhoe placed third with 69.128%, demonstrating reliability.

In the Rivenlee CDN Intermediate A/B Freestyle, Maddison Foster and Revelwood Desmond won with 69.609%, following earlier successes. Foster noted, “It was very special to compete in my first international competition with Des. My aim was to ride clean tests, but at times Des had a little bit to say about how scary the indoor was. He still tried his absolute best, and I couldn’t be more proud of him and what we were able to achieve together. The judges’ comments have given us a lot of confidence as we look ahead to making our Grand Prix debut shortly.” Megan Keir and Revelwood Queens County scored 68.292% for second, while Susan Elekessy and Callum Park Damascus earned 68.217% for third.

The Stable Ground CDN Intermediate I Freestyle went to Lisa Martin and Vilaggio with 72.880%. Rebecca Rooke and BB Niccolo followed in second at 71.370%, and Celeste Amezdroz and Sugarloaf Amnesty took third with 70.930%.

Younger categories also impressed. Nicole Tough and Everdeen won the Elementary 3.2 with 75.750%, securing the Mulawa Performance Horses Elementary Championship. In the EBM Group CDI U25 Grand Prix Freestyle, Dannielle McMahon and Remi Laurie’s Joy scored 69.015%. McMahon said, “I’m so proud of Joy. She’s come so far in the Grand Prix work. There’s still more to improve, and I’m really excited to see what’s to come.”

The Rockwell Information Services CDI Young Rider Freestyle was won by Angelina Thompson and Arnage Royal Edition at 72.205%. Millie Fletcher and Amsterdam dominated the 4CYTE CDI Junior Freestyle with 74.158%. Matia Hopwood and Clare Downs Arian Lledrith led the Future Farms CDI Pony Freestyle with 70.308%.

In the Shepherds Electrical CDI Children Team Test, Sage Sharpe and Alpine Park Sneak Preview edged out victory at 64.325%.

Young horse classes highlighted future talent. Robbie McKinnon and Verstappen DS won the Four-Year-Old Round 2 with 84.400%. Matthew Lord and Remi Braveheart took the Five-Year-Old with 81.500%. Lizzie Wilson-Fellows and Hollands Bend Secrets Out prevailed in the Six-Year-Old on countback at 76.200%. Jessica Dertell and Osaka P won the Seven-Year-Old with 75.329%.

Event organizer Cathie Drury-Klein, supported by the Willinga Park team and sponsors, ensured a well-run competition.
