Jets' Garrett Wilson to miss 3-4 weeks with knee sprain

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson sustained a knee sprain in the team's Week 10 victory over the Cleveland Browns and will miss 3-4 weeks without needing surgery. This marks his second knee injury of the season, following a hyperextended knee that sidelined him for Weeks 7 and 8. The injury occurred during a 27-20 win that improved the Jets' record after an 0-7 start.

Garrett Wilson left the field in the second half of Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns after attempting a diving catch, limping off and not returning. Coach Aaron Glenn confirmed postgame that the injury affected the same knee that previously hampered Wilson earlier in the year. Wilson finished with zero catches on three targets, contributing to a subdued passing performance from quarterback Justin Fields, who completed six passes for 54 yards, with all but 12 coming on a connection to running back Breece Hall.

The Jets secured a 27-20 victory, their second straight win following a thrilling 39-38 shootout against the Cincinnati Bengals. This momentum comes after a challenging 0-7 start to the season. Wilson's absence adds to an injury-plagued year for the former first-round pick, potentially preventing him from reaching 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in his four-year career, though his four touchdowns remain the second-most of his career.

If Wilson misses three games, he could return for the December 7 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. A four-game absence would delay his return to the December 14 game at the Jacksonville Jaguars. The team hopes for his swift recovery to bolster their late-season push.
