Johnny Knoxville has revealed that a new installment in the Jackass franchise will hit theaters on June 26. The announcement comes four years after the release of Jackass Forever. Details about the cast and stunts remain under wraps.
Johnny Knoxville, co-creator of the Jackass series, shared the exciting news on Instagram on January 7, 2026. Posting an image of the franchise's logo alongside the date June 26, he wrote: "Well a wang dang and hot damn doodle, we are starting the year off with a bang. We wanted to let you know that this summer Jackass is back!! We will see you in theatres June 26th. More to come but wanted you to hear it from us first!!"
The franchise originated as a reality TV show on MTV in October 2000, featuring Knoxville, Steve-O, Bam Margera, Jason "Wee Man" Acuña, Ryan Dunn, and others performing dangerous and comedic stunts. It transitioned to the big screen with Jackass: The Movie in 2002, followed by three more films and the spinoff Bad Grandpa, grossing over $570 million worldwide.
The most recent entry, Jackass Forever, released in February 2022, marked the first without Dunn, who died in a 2011 drunk-driving crash, and Margera, who was removed during production due to alleged substance abuse issues. The film introduced new cast members including Rachel Wolfson, Zach Holmes, and Sean “Poopies” McInerney, and earned positive reviews while grossing $80 million amid post-pandemic theater recovery. It was dedicated to Dunn.
Variety has confirmed this upcoming project as Jackass 5, distributed by Paramount Pictures. While the full cast is unclear, Margera is unlikely to return; he stated last summer that no amount of money would entice him back. Steve-O reacted enthusiastically to the news, saying, "Yeah dude!!"
Knoxville, now 54, previously suffered severe injuries during Jackass Forever, including a broken wrist, rib, concussion, and brain hemorrhage from a bull stunt. In a 2022 interview, he described feeling "foggy" for months afterward and hinted at retiring from major stunts, though he has since hosted a Fear Factor reboot.
