Businessman Mico Freitas, husband of singer Kelly Key, will undergo heart surgery next week to fix an abnormality found after an ischemic stroke. The artist updated followers on his condition on Tuesday (April 21). The issue was discovered during medical exams following the incident in Lisbon.
Mico Freitas suffered an ischemic stroke on Monday (April 6) while in Lisbon with Kelly Key. Initial symptoms included slurred speech and loss of coordination on the left side of the body. He was rushed to the hospital, where tests confirmed an occlusion in small cerebral branches.
On Thursday (April 9), Mico was discharged from the hospital. Kelly Key reported he was stable, medicated, and recovering, awaiting a more specific exam. "Mico was discharged today and is fine, medicated and recovering," the singer stated on social media at the time.
Subsequent tests revealed a heart abnormality, described by Kelly as a "little hole in the heart." After two consultations with cardiologists, surgery was scheduled for next week. "Next week Mico will have surgery to fix the little hole in the heart and, with faith, everything will be fine. From the misfortunes, we were very lucky [...], we detected it very quickly," Kelly Key said in a recent post.
During recovery, Mico produced a song tribute to his wife, including production, recording, and a music video. The singer emphasized the rapid diagnosis as key to safe treatment.
