Kim Gordon, known from Sonic Youth, has shared 'Dirty Tech,' the second single from her upcoming album Play Me. The track addresses technology's encroachment with a hip-hop influenced sound. The accompanying video features her in an abandoned corporate office.

Kim Gordon released 'Dirty Tech' on February 11, 2026, as the second single from her forthcoming album Play Me, set for release on March 13 via Matador Records. This follows the lead single 'Not Today,' which had an alternative rock style, while 'Dirty Tech' shifts to underground trap aesthetics with elastic, thrumming production reminiscent of Drake's work. The song explores the power struggle between humans and advancing technology, particularly AI.

In a press release, Gordon reflected: “I was kind of musing about, is my next boss going to be an AI chatbot? We’re the first ones whose lights are going to go out—not the tech billionaires. It’s so abstract that people can’t comprehend.”

The music video, directed by Moni Haworth, shows Gordon in a creepy, empty corporate office filled with office clutter, emphasizing themes of isolation and technological dominance. Play Me serves as the follow-up to her 2024 album The Collective.

Pre-orders for Play Me are available on vinyl and CD. Gordon will support the album with a spring tour across the UK and Europe, including dates such as April 11 at Rewire 2026 in The Hague, Netherlands; April 14 at O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London, UK; and April 17 at Le Trianon in Paris, France.
